College of Nursing Graduate Students Mark 11 Years of 'Great Senior-to-Junior Support'
The great tradition of "naerisarang"—senior-to-junior support that helps juniors broaden and deepen the academic and research paths laid by their predecessors—has deeply resonated across the local community and on campus. Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) College of Nursing graduate students have, for 11 years, gone beyond one-off donations by contributing development funds that directly support juniors' research activities, establishing themselves as a solid pillar for cultivating global nursing talent. On the 9th, JBNU held a donation and plaque presentation ceremony in the President's Office at University Headquarters. This year, a total of 36 graduate students pooled KRW 47,500,000 for the development fund. Their donations have continued every year since 2016. Professor Jun-ho Jeong Appointed Project Director of the Nation's First Cultural Impact Assessment Implementing Institution
Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Professor Jun-ho Jeong (Department of Public Administration, College of Social Science) has been appointed Project Director of the Cultural Impact Assessment implementing institution first designated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Accordingly, Professor Jeong will lead efforts to establish and advance the Cultural Impact Assessment system over the next three years. Under Article 9‑3 of the Framework Act on Culture, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has, for the first time, designated two institutions nationwide, including JBNU Industry-University Cooperation, as Cultural Impact Assessment implementing institutions. This designation is the first case since the institution designation system was introduced through the 2025 amendment to the Framework Act on Culture, and it is significant in that it institutionalizes the expertise and credibility of Cultural Impact Assessments. Hope Jeonbuk POST-BI Selected as Operating Institution for HR and Labor Training for Startups
Jeonbuk National University (JBNU)-operated Hope Jeonbuk POST-BI (Director Guk Gyeong-su) has been selected as an operating institution for the 'Startup HR and Labor Management Linked Training' jointly promoted by the Korea Business Incubation Association and the Korea Employment and Labor Training Institute. This project is a nationwide education support program aimed at strengthening the practical HR and labor-management capabilities of startup business owners and managers. A call for applications was held for startup incubation centers nationwide, and five institutions were selected for the basic course and five for the advanced course. Hope Jeonbuk POST-BI was chosen as an operating institution for the basic course. JBNU's Jeonbuk International Development Cooperation Center, under President Yang Oh-bong, in cooperation with the School of International Studies and the International Development Cooperation Institute, concluded the first-half 2026 development cooperation seminar series 'INDECODE' with strong interest from university students and local residents. This first-half series comprised six sessions, from the 33rd through the 38th, held from March 11 to May 27, 2026. The program focused on evolving key international development cooperation issues such as agriculture, food, cultural heritage, and global health, and received positive responses from participants. 'INDECODE' is a program whose name conveys the idea of 'creating someone's joy through development cooperation.'
